I’m slowly working on my 20 years of Nudes book. Hopefully I’ll have it done by the end of the year. These are from a shoot with Trish 10 years ago.
From my shoot with Jordan last week.
I hate censorship. I hope you came here from Instagram to have a look at these beautiful images without the stupid scribbles.
As usual, I meet with a talented group of photographers who are mostly members of the Marin Photo Club to drink wine and share photos. It’s always an enjoyable time and the work of some of these folks is beyond compare.
As I do most months, I meet with a group of talented photographers to share our work from the past month. This time, I had nothing really new, so I pulled out some stuff from photos I took 10 years ago in April.
Shared here uncensored.
As usual I meet with a great group of fellow artists every month. This is what I brought to the table to show.
With AJ the Model UK via remote shoot.
Covid sort of invented the idea of remote shooting. I think it’s a great way to be able to shoot with models you might not otherwise be able to shoot with. Today I shot with AJ the model in the UK. Here are a few quick edits. I’ll add them all to the archives when I get done working on them.
We had our Salon early this month. This is what I showed.
I was reminded, by a post I saw on instagram, that we had been to White Pocket and decided to go back and have a look. This shot caught my eye.
Unfortunately I had to miss my monthly Salon this month. But, I still had photos prepared so here they are!
I dug back 10 years to find this gem.
Ok, not to be a luddite, I decided to try some generative fill in photoshop. It’s their latest feature to keep themselves in the AI game. First off, they have stupid rules about nudes so I couldn’t create a reflection like I wanted, so that’s pretty fucking bogus. Anyway, I’m really struggling with how I feel about genertative fill or even composite images. When does it stop being my photograph and become something else. Maybe if I do composites with images that are all mine I can feel OK with that? I dunno, still struggling and would love to hear your thoughts on this and the before/after images.
Lately I’ve seen a LOT of digital creators on Instagram pretending to be photographers. Or being very obtuse about how they are creating their images so as to seem like they are photographers. Stop it! Own your AI generated stuff. Don’t pretend you are doing something you aren’t. The worst part is when a bunch of lemmings fall for it. Sheesh, have some artistic integrity. I will never lie about how any of my images are created. If I happen to dapple in AI I will always be honest about it.
This month's photos were a mish-mash. I’m feeling a little bit of a creative funk, but power through anyway!
I had some time to do some random edits today.
